Bleeding Hearts Kettlebell Club
Health & Wellness / Posted 11 months ago
Good afternoon Bleeding Hearts.
By now you know the drill. We have made the super difficult decision to close the gym, effective now, for at least a week. I have to think about the health and safety of our trainers, and we need to do our part encourage social distancing and do what is best for public health.
Here’s what’s going to happen. There are 3 Zoom Virtual classes a day available on the schedule right now. There will be a live, virtual class at 9am, noon, and 5pm Monday-Friday, and a 9am on Saturday and Sunday. To participate, you will sign up on Pike13 like always. One hour before class, I will email the meeting link to everyone signed up. I will lead the class from the gym and do my best to coach you through your little screens!
If you can’t make one of these live workouts, or you don’t want to do the whole zoom thing, I will also upload each workout to a private youtube channel. You will sign up for that through Pike13 as well, and I will email you the link.
I will be at the gym tonight from 7-8 pm and tomorrow during all of those live class times. If you don’t have a bell at home you can come rent one for the week. All of our workouts will be designed around a single arm swing bell so rent one that you can do 10 single arm swings on a side with.
I also hope to upload a bodyweight workout video every day for people who don’t want to use a bell, or haven’t been trained to do that. So if you have a friend who hasn’t come to the gym, but can’t go to theirs, they can also buy some classes from us.
Tomorrow’s workout will be all bodyweight, so everyone has time to secure a bell.
It will take a minute to work out the kinks on all this, so please be patient with us while we work our way through this. If you can afford to, please keep your membership. If you can’t, you know I’ll let you keep working out, just reach out and I’ll get you the links.
I know this sucks, this is a scary time and for a lot of us, working out together is our stress relief and mental health prescription. But let’s hang in there together and make the best of this. The more people that buy classes and join these virtual workouts, the more likely it is that we stay afloat and that I can keep paying the amazing and skilled people that have taught you everything you know about kettlebells. So share with your friends, workout as a family, wave to your buddies through the screen, and move your body even under quarantine.
Please wear clothes and make your bed.
Hit me up with all of the questions you have.
I love you all. Virtual hugs and kisses.
